Millennial's Parables

EAT TACOS. GLORIFY GOD.

Let me apologize in advance.  I’m about to make you really hungry.  Like, really, really hungry.

For some of you,  it’s a forbidden fruit that we devour anyway from time to time and that’s OK.  They were meant to.

There are few things in the world that God created to be amazing for the enjoyment of his people.

The State of Texas is among the top rated things.

Football.

The Godfather Part II.

Like I said very little things.

Here is the hungry part.

God also gave humanity, Tacos.

Specifically of the “Taco Truck” genre.

EAT TACOS. GLORIFY GOD.

Eat Tacos. Glorify God. (Doesn’t that sound like a T-Shirt waiting to happen? Hmm)

Eat tacos and glorify God?

How? Well, enjoy the fine cuisine of an inspirational Jesus lesson.

The bible tell us that “Whether you EAT or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

taco-truckThis succulent delicious piece of food art has been satisfying the inner most parts of soul’s for as long as Mexicans can remember.

“Echate un taco”, as we like to say as if it will solve all our problems.  Soul Food at it’s best.

“Chicken Soup” for the hungry soul?  I think not. (If you are old enough to know what “Chicken Soup for the Soul Books are)

More like “Taco de trompo” for the starving soul! (No, Trompo is not Trump in spanish)

I may have taken this taco and soul thing a tad bit to far.

A Taco CAN satisfy the most hungriest body!  But, it won’t do a thing for your soul.

There is only one who can satisfy our emptiness and longing for happiness, joy, and love.

Jesus.  He is like the richest of foods, the most delicious dish you’ve ever tasted…

 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.  _ Psalm 63

Jesus is the only one who can satisfy us.  Just like your body gets satisfied with Tacos or whatever your favorite foods are.  That is what Jesus does for your soul.

Our bodies get hungry again and again and again and we need to nourish our bodies with food to keep them alive.

Our souls get hungry again and again and again too.  Always hungry to fill a void that the human race was born with.  A void that can only be filled and satisfied with Jesus.

He is better than life.  Worship Him. Glorify Him. Let HIM satisfy you.

God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in HIM! – John Piper
